The Creation, holds a very special place in this journey. I feel deeply grateful to every soul who connected with this energy from Colombia to every corner where the call of the emerald was felt.
To those who were drawn to wear pieces with story, with meaning… you remind me of something essential: when I truly create, not everyone will see it but the right ones will feel it. Authenticity is connection. And there are things that are not made to impress, but to express. And when you become part of that expression, everything begins to make sense
Boyaca the heart of Colombia, land of humble and hardworking people.
From the moment I set foot in Coscuez, Boyacá,Colombia I knew this journey would change how I see emeralds forever. These stones are not just beautiful gems; they are living pieces of the earth, shaped by time, energy, and the hands of those who have worked the land for generations. As a Colombian designer, this trip was more than a visit it was a return to my roots, a chance to connect deeply with the land where most powerful emeralds are born.
The Land Where Emeralds Are Born
Coscuez is a place of raw beauty and hidden strength. The emerald mines lie deep beneath the surface, carved by nature and human effort over centuries. Walking through the landscape, you feel the pulse of the earth beneath your feet. This connection to the land is essential to understanding the true value of emeralds.
The stones carry the energy of the soil, the water, the air around them and within it, thousands of stories. Shaped by past tragedies, wrapped in mystery, all held together by a quiet, relentless hope; the hope of finding that single spark capable of transforming a "guaquero" life forever.

40 meters deep
Where the body met the Earth
I stepped into the mine, something I never thought I would do.
In Colombia ,we grow up hearing daily stories of miner trapped underground, so that fear becomes part of you.
but something deep within me kept calling me to live the experience, to follow even if just a moment the life of quaquero.
We entered few tunnels, raching depths of 30 to 50 meters inside, the air was thick, and my breathing became heavy, for a moment we heard dynamite and honestly it scared me a lot ,I was already deep inside the mine ,for a second I thought getting out of there but would be impossible I was so far ,my mind started going to dark places but I tried to calm myself and just believe in Pachamama would never harm me.
After a few minutes we were able to get out, but I felt like forever, specially leaving that last part of the mine.
The guaqueros are really tough, what they do every day is not easy at all, The miners, known as guaqueros, are the heart of this story. Their strength and resilience are remarkable. Watching them work inside the mine gave me a deep respect for their daily struggle and dedication. These men and women have spent their lives in this region, passing down knowledge about emeralds through generations and that's really so precious .

How This Journey Shapes My Design
Being in Coscuez changed how I approach my work as a designer. The emeralds are no longer just valuable stones to be set in jewelry. They are carriers of energy and stories. This awareness influences every choice, I make from the design to the way I honor the land and the people who bring these stones to light.
The emeralds symbolize expansion, love, and inner power. They remind me that everything we create holds the energy of where it comes from. This belief connects my identity as a Colombian with my work in Australia it bridges continents and cultures into one story of creation and respect.
When I design with emeralds, I think about the journey of the stone from the earth to the hands of the guaqueros, and finally to the wearer. This journey inspires me to create pieces that celebrate life, strength, and connection, pieces that can be carry by amulets.

The Energy of Creation
This journey taught me that the creative process is not just about making something beautiful. It is about honoring the source, respecting the hands that worked the stone, and embracing the energy that flows through every step.
A Journey That Continues
My trip to Coscuez was a powerful reminder that creativity is rooted in connection. The land, the people, and the emeralds themselves are inseparable parts of the story I tell through my work. This journey bridges Colombia and Australia, weaving together cultures and energies into designs that honor the past and inspire the future.
If you want to experience this connection yourself, look beyond the surface of the stones. Feel their energy, learn their story, and honor the hands that brought them to life. This is the true power of emeralds a power that transforms not just jewelry but the way we see the world because remember the power is within you. always .
